Do you find it Hard to Keep Track of Changes to the Regulatory Status of a Cosmetic Ingredient?

There are many requirements for cosmetic ingredients under different chemicals legislation, in particular: the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation, the Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (REACH) Regulation, and the Cosmetics Regulation.  Furthermore, post-Brexit, companies have to track all relevant regulatory changes for both the UK and EU markets.

CTPA has launched a new e-learning in its Online Learning Platform 'Cosmetic Ingredients: How to Find Out the Legal Status'.  The e-learning is available for free to members of CTPA; non-members of the Association can also access the training (except Module 4 on international regulations) for a payable fee of 150£+VAT.

Module 3 of this e-learning covers:

  • CTPA resources to track ingredients changes and UK/EU divergence
  • EU official resources: the EU Commission and ECHA websites
  • UK official resources: the UK Government websites
  • How to plan for future bans or restrictions

This module therefore gives an overview of CTPA resources available to members to check on upcoming changes to the regulatory status of cosmetic ingredients under the EU or UK Cosmetics Regulations, as well as EU or GB CLP Regulations and EU or UK REACH Regulations.  The module also provides companies with an outline on how to make business plans to ensure compliance with upcoming ingredients changes.
