Advertising Claims Guide (2018)
This CTPA guide has been created to help advertisers understand more clearly the framework in which cosmetic claims appear and the way in which cosmetic claims may be classified.
The Guide is split into three sections: Framework of Common Understanding, Building Blocks of Claim Support, Practical Guide to Good Study Design. Key new features of the 2018 edition are: updated references (MHRA Guidance Note 8, Cosmets Regulation, Common Criteria on Cosmetic Claims, Technical Documnt on Cosmetic Claims, CAP Note on the Use of Post-production Technique, ISO 16128); focus on the role of the Responsible Person; updated views of the Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP), Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and Clearcast; decision tree and case studies for practical understanding.
The Guide is endorsed by CAP, ASA and Clearcast.
