On 11 March 2021 the UK Government’s Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) launched a call for evidence on the new UK product safety framework. The objective of the review is to create a Product Safety Framework that is simple, flexible, and fit for the future, delivering safety for all consumers, supporting businesses to flourish and innovate, whilst also supporting the transition to net zero. The review will also ensure the framework is able to keep pace with new technologies and business models, whilst offering the opportunity to regulate in a way which suits the UK economy. The Call for Evidence will be open for a period of 12 weeks, closing on 3 June 2021 and responses should be submitted online using the dedicated online portal; however, where this is not feasible, responses can be emailed to [email protected].
CTPA encourages companies to take part to the call for evidence and submit their feedback. CTPA is liaising with its committees to prepare its own contribution.
