On 27 July 2026, the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) launched a Call for Evidence to gather stakeholder views on Digital Product Record (DPR) policy.
An example of a DPR policy is the EU Digital Product Passport (DPP), which will apply in Northern Ireland under the Windsor Framework. This consultation will look at DPR’s in general, the impact of existing DPR policy and what should be considered from a UK perspective when developing a DPR policy.
This will be used to inform on whether a UK DPR policy could be used to streamline the provision of product information for businesses, whilst enhancing transparency and traceability for consumers and authorities in market surveillance.
The deadline for response is 21 September 2026. The consultation can be accessed here.
