On 13 October 2020, the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) laid the Product Safety and Metrology etc. (Amendment etc.) (UK(NI) Indication) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 into Parliamentary process. This Statutory Instrument (SI) has been presented to introduce the necessary amendments to the legislation in place for the ‘no deal’ Brexit, in order to adapt to the end of the Implementation Period and take consideration of the provisions within the Northern Ireland (NI) Protocol, in line with the Withdrawal Agreement.
