EU CLP Revision: Text Adopted by EU Parliament

European Parliament have voted to adopt the proposed text.

On 23 April 2024, the European Parliament voted to adopt the provisional agreement proposed for the revision of the EU CLP Regulation. 

The text approved is available here.  This text introduces changes to:

  • the assessment and classification of hazards, including the review of the classification procedure, the introduction of new approach methodologies (NAMs) and the provisions on classification of mixtures with more than one constituent (MOCS); 
  • labelling requirements, including the use of fold-out labels and provisions on the possible introduction of digital labelling. 

Cosmetics Europe have issued a press release in response to the adoption of the EU Parliament, welcoming the text and mentioning specifically the provisions on MOCS as they relate to mixtures from plants of parts thereof.
