On 1 September 2020, the UK Government published general guidance on ‘Placing manufactured goods on the EU market from 1 January 2021’ and ‘Placing manufactured goods on the UK market from 1 January 2021’. Both guidance documents provide generic advice on regulatory compliance for goods placed on either the EU or UK market as of the end of the Brexit transition period.
In particular, the advice also includes information on conformity assessments and the UKCA mark, which will be replacing the current CE mark at the end of the transition period for products sold in the UK market.
Companies are reminded that these are not directly applicable to cosmetic products, but they may be applicable to other goods they supply with their cosmetic products.
