The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS), the UK competent authority for cosmetic products, continues to issue newsletters to registered users of the Submit Cosmetic Products Notifications (SCPN) portal. These newsletters aim to inform users on any new guidance, or updates, or improvements implemented for the SCPN portal.

The SCPN portal allowed the upload of the ZIP file from the EU CPNP notification as a transitional provision, to enable companies to more easily re-notify cosmetics already on the market onto the UK SCPN portal. The feature will now going to be removed as of 4 October 2021, as it is no longer widely used by companies.
OPSS will be focussing next on implementing the possibility for companies to amend submitted notifications.
