BLOG: Why you should attend CTPA’s Sustainability Summit

CTPA’s Director-General, Dr Emma Meredith, explains why the upcoming Sustainability Summit on 10 May is THE must-attend event to help companies on their sustainability journeys.

“It is imperative that as individuals, companies and an industry we commit to reducing the environmental impact of cosmetics and personal care products wherever possible.”  Dr Emma Meredith

Why is sustainability so Important?

I feel strongly that sustainability must be at the heart of a business and CTPA has been championing more sustainable practices among the industry through its Sustainability Strategy: Driving Towards a Net Zero Cosmetics Industry

A significant part of the CTPA’s work is meeting with members and helping them wherever they are along their sustainability journeys.  The learnings CTPA has taken from these meetings is positive and members  are further along than they realise.

However, it’s often quite daunting for companies to know where to start and where they should be focussing their efforts.  Fortunately CTPA’s Sustainability Summit programme offers support and clear direction to take those vital and positive steps.

CTPA Sustainability Summit 10 May 2023 – a MUST-attend event

The 2023 Summit will build on the first Summit in 2021 and will challenge us to drive forward by learning from the best, networking with other professionals in the sector and taking our ambitions to the next level.

In creating the Summit programme, CTPA has provided companies of all sizes the advice and insights to set and achieve meaningful targets.

The first session will explain the different aspects of sustainability, demystify terminology and provide clarity for companies as to where they want to focus their efforts.  This session will be delivered with incredible passion by Graham McMillan (First Avenue Consulting).

I’m very excited that Sir Jonathan Porritt, renowned environmentalist, is returning to our second Summit as a speaker.  His keynote speech will leave us in no doubt that action has to be taken and we must not and cannot ignore environmental issues.  The cosmetics industry must be seen to be taking affirmative action.

If you haven’t registered to attend, I would urge you to do so – registration closes on Friday 5 May!  This Summit is THE must-attend event for members and non-members of CTPA and is an opportunity to hear and speak to experts who are living and breathing these critical issues and to take learnings back to your own companies.

I look forward to welcoming you on 10 May, whether in person at 11 Cavendish Square, London, or virtually as the Summit is a hybrid event.
