The UK Prepares for Trade Deal Negotiations with the GCC

On 8 October 2021, the Department for International Trade launched a public consultation seeking input on the possibility of future trade negotiations with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) towards securing a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).  The GCC represents the countries of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The consultation will last for 14 weeks, closing on 14 January 2022.  The information provided through the consultation will help inform the approach of DIT towards the negotiations for a UK-GCC FTA, aimed to start during 2022.
