CTPA is pleased to announce that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the UK Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) and China National Institutes for Food and Drug Control (NIFDC).
This MoU establishes a framework for cooperation and facilitates the exchange of expertise in cosmetic ingredient innovation and the development of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) for cosmetic safety assessment. The agreement is particularly significant in the context of the UK Government’s recently published strategy on Non-Animal New Approach Methodologies.
Following the signing of the MoU, the UK Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is coordinating plans for upcoming technical exchanges between regulators and the cosmetics industry, aligning these activities with the forthcoming visit of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer to China.
CTPA, together with the UK cosmetics industry, will play an active role in implementing the MoU.
NIFDC’s announcement on the MoU can be found on their website.
