Article 2 of the UK and EU Cosmetics Regulations gives specific definitions for Undesirable Effects (UEs) and Serious Undesirable Effects (SUEs). SUEs have reporting obligations under the UK and EU Cosmetics Regulations. It is important for companies to understand the differences between UEs and SUEs and the related legal obligations.
CTPA has launched a new e-learning on Cosmetovigilance. This e-learning provides a comprehensive training on cosmetovigilance and companies’ related obligations. This CTPA training gives an overview of company’s recording and reporting obligations in the UK and the EU when a consumer experiences an adverse event, with a particular focus on performing a causality assessment.
The e-learning is available for free to members of CTPA; non-members of the Association can access the training for a payable fee of 75£+VAT.
After taking this e-learning, we advise companies to sign up for the biannual webinar presenting case studies on how to perform the causality assessment. The webinar is interactive, allowing active participation for attendees via practical examples. Please visit the CTPA events page to check the next upcoming webinar. The next session is scheduled for 15 May 2023 at 15.00-16.00. To register, please click here. The webinar is free for members of CTPA; non-members of the Association who completed the Cosmetovigilance e-learning can also access the webinar for free.
