The National Cyber Security Council (NCSC) has identified a key issue facing modern companies: cyber threats are now recognised as a major business risk, particularly within the service industry. In response, the NCSC has developed an e-learning training package titled Staying Safe Online: Top Tips for Staff. NCSC has also produced a useful Infographic.
CTPA staff have been encouraged to take the training as part of the Association’s cyber security action plan. We are pleased to make the training available for members on the CTPA website. This concise, free, user-friendly course takes less than 30 minutes to complete. Members can access the training here.
Many organisations, of all sizes, struggle to convey why cyber security is essential for all staff and present technical aspects of cyber security in a relatable way — helping employees protect both the organisation and themselves from attacks. Without comprehensive cyber security policies and training employees, who are the frontline defence against cyber threats, maybe vulnerable to attacks.
This NCSC training course addresses these concerns by introducing the importance of cyber security, explaining how attacks happen and focussing on four key topics:
- Defending against phishing
- Creating strong passwords
- Securing devices
- Reporting incidents ("if in doubt, call it out")
Although primarily designed for SMEs, the course is applicable to organisations of any size or sector. It caters specifically for those who may have limited knowledge of cyber security, while offering practical tips that complement existing policies and procedures.
We hope this training proves valuable in enhancing your organisation's ability to combat cyber crime effectively.
