This year’s CTPA training ‘Cosmetic Claims – Principles and Practical Approaches’ will take place every day from 19 to 23 July between 13.30-15.30.
Mike Coates (Consumer Assistant Director at the Competition and Markets Authority – CMA) is leading on the recent project by the CMA on misleading green claims. The CMA recently carried out a market and consumer research on environmental and green claims across different sectors, including cosmetics and beauty products, to assess whether environmental and green claims are compliant with the consumer protection laws or are misleading consumers. Mike will share the findings of this research, as well as advice to businesses on make environmental claims that comply with the requirements of consumer protection law.
On 23 July, Mike will be supported by the CTPA team who will share findings from the Association run consumer focus group on environmental messaging, as well as advice on emerging claims and reputational damage.
