CTPA is delighted to announce that it has joined Cosmetic Europe’s ‘Commit for Our Planet’ initiative as a supporting partner. The initiative represents a drive by the cosmetics and personal care industry to reduce its environmental footprint.
Commit for Our Planet comprises eight sustainability commitments spread across three thematic pillars; climate, packaging and nature. Cosmetics Europe has developed new tools and guidelines to facilitate companies in achieving their commitments, including:
- Development of a greenhouse gas emissions calculator for companies to acquire a better understanding of their greenhouse gas contributions.
- Development of consolidated guidelines on recycling.
- Development of a database including nature-related risks and impacts linked to key cosmetics ingredients.
- Development of a standard questionnaire facilitating supplier engagement.
The initiative is open to cosmetics companies of all sizes, regardless of where they are on their sustainability journey. Companies do not need to be a member of Cosmetics Europe to participate.
