CE Launches Updated Guidance on Claims

On 15 September 2020, Cosmetics Europe, the EU personal care association, launched its updated Charter and Guiding Principles on Responsible Advertising and Marketing Communications and the Cosmetics Product Claims & Advertising: Compendium of applicable legislation, self-regulation, best practices and guidance.

The purpose of the Charter is to complement the already comprehensive regulatory framework, in order to further protect consumers from misleading claims and advertising; the Compendium is an educational resource to facilitate stakeholders’ awareness and to support industry’s compliance.

Companies are encouraged to consult these documents and use them as internal guidance or for external reference with key stakeholders.
