In its 2024 Manifesto, the Government committed to transitioning to a circular economy. To achieve this ambition, the Government is establishing a Circular Economy Taskforce, which will help develop a new Circular Economy Strategy underpinned by a series of roadmaps for reform.
As such, the Government is seeking applications from individuals interested in joining the Taskforce, with expertise in circular economy, behavioural science, sustainable engineering, supply chain logistics, material science, sustainable transitions, ‘zero waste’ infrastructure networks, place-based planning, and urban infrastructure.
Work to develop the Strategy and roadmaps will start in Autumn 2024, and Taskforce members will be required to dedicate up to 12 hours per week for six months.
