In December 2024, the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) published two new methods for measuring the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of cosmetic products. One is the Double Plate in vitro Method (DPM), the other is the Hybrid Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (HDRS).
CTPA is therefore organising a free webinar for members and non-members of the Association, to explain the technicalities of these new ISO methods to measure the SPF of cosmetic products. The webinar will be held on 8 July at 10.00-13.00 on zoom; to register, please click here.
This session will cover the below topics.

- Reproducibility of the method and how to interpret the results
- Comparison of results obtained from the in vitro vs the in vivo tests, and how to interpret any differences
- Water resistance
- HDRS hybrid method ISO 23698:2024
- How the method works
