Cosmetics Europe’s Expert Team Ingredient Monitoring and Assessment (ET IMA) is responsible for monitoring cosmetic ingredients which are undergoing regulatory processes which could impact their use in cosmetic products.

- Following the consultant’s assessment on the likelihood for a downgrade (outcome: will likely stay 1B) a second usage check is request for:
- Aminomethyl Propanol (CAS 124-68-5)
- Buffering
- Scope: Skin Corr. 1, H314, Eye Dam. 1, H318, Repr. 1B, H360D, STOT RE 2, H373
- Austria
For a defence under article 15.2, in discussions it was mentioned that there is a lack of food usage and there are existing alternatives, but it is important to get the view of the wider membership for this ingredient. Please do take a specific look at columns J-M in this case.
