Trade Remedies Investigation Survey on Glass Containers

The Trade Remedies Authority (TRA), who investigates if a trade remedy is needed to prevent injury to UK industries from unfair trading practices or unforeseen import surges, is considering whether to impose tariffs on imports of glass containers exported from China and Turkey, and would like to hear businesses' views.  The TRA survey can be accessed online and is open until 21 May 2026.  This survey is intended for UK consumers of glass containers, UK businesses who buy glass containers or UK businesses who produce parts used in the manufacture of glass containers.

Responses will help understand the effect that these tariffs could have on UK industries and consumers.  Further details regarding what goods are subject to the investigation, including commodities affected, can be found on case No. AD0087 for China, and case No. AS0088 for Turkey.

Information submitted will be used anonymously to draw part of the Economic Interest Test (EIT) conclusion and will be kept non-anonymously in TRA private records.
