It is with sadness that we inform you of the passing of Tony Eden-Brown, formerly Senior Policy Advisor at OPSS (Office for Product Safety and Standards). Tony had only recently retired.
Tony had been CTPA’s contact at the Civil Service department responsible for business since 2007. This was when the department was known as BERR (Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform) and Tony remained through BIS (Department for Business, Innovation and Skills), BEIS (Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy) and DBT (Department for Business and Trade). Tony attended the European Commission Working Group on Cosmetic Products meetings at Brussels, pre-Brexit.
Tony was a true character and always a pleasure to meet and work with. While always clear of his and the Department’s role, Tony had a great understanding and appreciation of the UK cosmetics industry and was very supportive of CTPA.
He will be fondly missed. Our thoughts are with Tony’s family at this difficult time.
