The Society of Cosmetic Scientists have unveiled a refreshed identity, including a new name, logo and digital presence, marking a significant milestone in the organisation’s evolution while reaffirming its long-standing commitment to scientific integrity, education and collaboration within the cosmetics sector.
Announced at the Society’s AGM on 22 May 2026, the change to the Society for Cosmetic Science (SCS) takes immediate effect and reflects the increasingly diverse and multidisciplinary nature of today’s cosmetic science industry. The rebrand unites the Society’s core activities and initiatives under one consistent brand umbrella, including Cosmetic Learning, the educational arm of the SCS, as well as SCS Formulate, the SCS Annual Conference and the SCS Annual Dinner & Awards.
Alongside the new name, the SCS has introduced a modernised visual identity. The refreshed branding includes a contemporary interpretation of the Society’s historic amphora symbol (created in 2012), together with an updated colour palette designed to create a cohesive identity across all areas of the organisation. It has also led to the redevelopment of the Society’s websites, including the educational platform, Cosmetic Learning, and the Society’s main website, Society for Cosmetic Science (SCS).
Caroline Holford, Marketing Manager of the SCS, commented:
“These changes were made to reflect the diversity of our industry. It was important to us that whilst we honour the past, we also look to the future and acknowledge the wider cosmetics industry and all the roles that contribute to its success.
“This is not about moving away from our heritage — it is about ensuring that the Society remains relevant, respected and effective in a rapidly evolving industry and modern working world. Our commitment to scientific integrity, professionalism and the advancement of cosmetic science remains unchanged and continues to sit at the heart of everything we do.”
The Society emphasises that the identity change is part of a wider strategy to future-proof the organisation, ensuring that it continues to lead, inspire and advance the science of cosmetics for generations to come.
