Healthy Gems - Alleviating Child Poverty in Greater Manchester

The Healthy Gems is a project funded by Shared Health Foundation which focuses on child health.

The Shared Health Foundation highlight’s that child poverty rates have been on the rise.  It has been shown that for each individual family or single parent, the addition of a new baby to the home is a major contributing factor to facing poverty.  It is often going without the small things that can induce stress and worry for parents; in turn impacting both the parents and child/children’s wellbeing, both physically and mentally.   Shared Health’s Healthy Gems Hub steps in at this point to mitigate the resource pressure and provide wrap around holistic care.  Its aim is to engage families and children across Greater Manchester to access health and wellbeing resources.

The Oldham Healthy Gems Hub is in need of corporate donations of hygiene products, toiletries (including toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner, shower gel/body wash, deodorants and baby care items) and nappies. All baby hygiene essentials and toiletries for mums must be unused and sealed.
