The Competition and Market Authority (CMA) has published a new guidance to help businesses understand supply chain responsibility for green claims under the Green Claims Code. The document aims to provide guidance on how the consumer protection law applies across the supply chain, as well as the CMA’s approach to its enforcement.
The guidance includes examples of environmental claims in practise, which include expectations of the CMA of such claims, and checklists of considerations for different businesses in the supply chain to follow when making environmental claims.
The guidance should be read in conjunction with the Green Claims Code.
