Regulatory Framework for Cosmetic Claims Webinar

All claims made for cosmetic products, whether they are on pack, TV, online, or in print, and whether they are text, images, or symbols, must comply with the UK Cosmetics Regulations (UKCR) and the Common Criteria for Cosmetic Claims.  Furthermore, all claims made in the UK to advertise a product must comply with the advertising and competition laws. The Responsible Person placing the products on the market is liable for the claims made, including their wording and their claim substantiation, and should be confident in these claims.

This CTPA webinar provides an overview of all the legal requirements for cosmetic claims in the UK. It reviews the obligations of the UKCR, explores the Common Criteria, and discusses the horizontal legislation such as the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive and the UK Advertising Codes.

The webinar also provides information on the principles for claim substantiation.

The webinar is relevant for any person working in R&D, Regulatory and Compliance, Legal, Brand Marketing, as well as any other person involved with claims and product design.
