DIT’s ‘Made in the UK, Sold to the World’ Export Strategy

On Wednesday 17 November, the Department for International Trade (DIT) published its refreshed 2021 export strategy to support British businesses looking to export to the global market.  The strategy is a business-facing 12-point action plan to support new and existing supporters, including:

  • the Export Support Service offering exporting advice;
  • expanding the UK Export Academy for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in all parts of the UK.  The academy will invite owners and managers of SMEs to access masterclasses, roundtables and networking events that help them overcome common challenges first-time exporters face;
  • new UK Tradeshow Programme, that will help UK companies to attend and promote their products around the world.

The strategy, titled ‘Made in the UK, Sold to the World’, will see government work closely with businesses to help them succeed in the global marketplace through a comprehensive export support framework.  Further information about the export strategy can be found on the UK Government website.
