The Department for International Trade (DIT) Import Licensing Branch (ILB) has provided CTPA with an update on the issuance of Certificates of Free Sale (CFS).
From 1 January 2021, only cosmetic businesses based in the UK will be able to request a CFS from the ILB’s Import Case Management System (ICMS) platform. The platform will be offline during 31 December 2020 and will be back live on the following day. Current account usernames and passwords will remain valid on 1 January 2021.
CFS issued from 1 January 2021 will reference the new UK cosmetics legislation for companies based in Great Britain (GB), and the EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 for companies based in Northern Ireland (NI).
