The competent authority for enforcing cosmetics in the UK is Trading Standards, who apply policy and deliver enforcement at a local level.  As the national regulator for cosmetics, the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) supports Trading Standards and conducts activities to ensure the safety of cosmetic products on the market.  Authorities provide advice and support to businesses to ensure products are compliant and the consumer is safe and are also required to take action over a product that does not comply with the UK regulations.

This CTPA webinar provides an overview of the how cosmetic enforcement works in the UK.  We will be joined by OPSS who will provide an overview of the organisation structure and how enforcement fits within the organisation, an insight into how cosmetic safety is managed, case studies of enforcement and other projects such as sector specific investigations.  Richard Knight from Trading Standards will also be joining to guide companies through how Trading Standards Officers may request information and deliver enforcement actions with real life examples and case studies.

The webinar is scheduled for two hours, with an opportunity for Q&A.  It is for open for CTPA members and non-members.
