UN Climate Change Conference 2021

The Bureau of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change), with the UK and its Italian partners, agreed new dates for the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference, which will now take place between 1 and 12 November 2021 in Glasgow.

COP26, the UN Climate Change Conference set to take place in Glasgow in November this year was postponed in April as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As well as the COP26 presidency, this timing will also coincide with the UK holding the revolving G7 presidency and co-hosts, Italy holdng presidency of the G20 group, which includes major emerging economies.

As a result, there is likely to be increased scrutiny on the UK Government and its policies as well as heighten awareness about how the UK will steer a greener recovery following the COVID19 pandemic.
