Re-cast of Cosmetics Directive
CTPA's Director-General Dr Chris Flower: "The EC Cosmetics Directive (76/768/EEC) is currently being re-cast as a Regulation to make it directly applicable in each member state.  The EC Council of Ministers and European Parliament (EP) are reviewing the European Commission's proposal under the co-decision procedure which is expected to receive approval under First Reading in the EP by the end of 2008 for finalising before the European elections in 2009.  The CTPA is working with other national associations and Colipa, the European Cosmetics trade association, to ensure that the re-cast reflects best industry practice, is transparent, workable and equitable for large and small companies."
